KUCCPS Announces Closure of Application Portal for Kenya Medical Training College
On Wednesday, the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) issued an important notice regarding applications for the Kenya Medical and Training College (KMTC). The announcement stated that the application portal would close on July 12, 2024. After this date, prospective students who wish to join KMTC colleges across the country will no longer be able to submit their applications.
“Seeking an opportunity to join KMTC starting September 2024? The KUCCPS application portal for placement to KMTC will close on July 12, 2024!” read the notice from KUCCPS.
KUCCPS also informed applicants that they could view their application status on the portal. This is a crucial step for students to confirm their placements and ensure they have submitted all necessary information correctly.
Additionally, KUCCPS released a comprehensive list of 23 courses available for study at KMTC campuses. The list includes both Certificate and Diploma courses, with specific cluster points set by the Placement Service available on the portal.
Under the engineering category, students can pursue a Certificate in Medical Engineering or a Diploma in the same field. Other certificate courses available include Health Records and Information Technology, Orthopedic Trauma Medicine, and Community Health Assistants. Additional certificate courses offered are in Nutrition and Dietetics and Medical Emergency Technician.
For those interested in diploma courses, options include Health Records and Information Technology, Public Health, Health Counselling, and Physiotherapy. Courses in Optometry and Dental Technology are also available for students interested in these specialized fields.
This announcement follows the recent deadline for inter-institutional transfers for students placed in degree courses, which lapsed on July 4, 2024. The closure of the application portal emphasizes the importance for prospective students to act promptly to secure their placements at KMTC.
