TSC Aon Minet Open Doors for change of Dependants; Deadline 30th June

Teachers medical insurance service provider AON Minet also known as MAKL has opened the window for teachers who want to change dependants to do so. According to AON Minet teachers who wish to change their dependants have upto 30th June 2021.

Some teachers find it difficult when they want to add or remove dependants cause AON Minet does not provide this service on regular basis. Some of the documents teachers are required to provide during dependants changing process include;

1. Birth certificates for children below 18 years

2. Birth notifications for newly born babies

3. ID card for children above 18 years or their College or University IDs

4. For a spouse an ID and a marriage certificate is needed AON Minet support upto four children as dependants.

Teachers can visit their County AON Minet offices for assistance with the change of dependants.

TSC supports teachers during the pandemic Despite the surging numbers of patients with Covid-19, the teachers employer, Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has assured teachers that their medical bill will be taken care of.

TSC and AON Minet had already struck a deal to treat teachers and their dependants found to have contracted Covid-19.The 328,00 teachers in primary and secondary schools will be able to be treated for Coronavirus disease following the agreement between their employer and their medical insurer.

The Teachers Service Commission(TSC) had said teachers and their dependants are free to walk to any health facility and be treated for Covid-19 and be treated for Covid-19 and any other health complications.”In line with this, the Minet Kenya-led Consortium in conjunction with TSC has been and will continue to support government’s efforts to combat Covid 19 by ensuring that any scheme member diagnosed with Covid-19 and exhibits symptoms,is able to access medical treatment at the designated scheme medical facilities,” said TSCs CEO Nancy Macharia, confirming that teachers and their dependants are covered for treatment of Covid-19 subject to the medical scheme’s terms and conditions.
