School Establishment

Kisii high School is a public National boys’ school in Kisii, Kenya. It is a non-profit public institution established in 1934 (by the Young Kavirondo Association) to provide secondary education to young pupils.

The school has had a strong connection to the Musa Nyandusi family, a Senior Chief during the colonial era. This was the most powerful position akin to a king answerable only to the colonial authority with minimal supervision. The Land on which the entire school stands was donated by Senior Chief Musa Nyandusi The school has produced the likes of Simeon Nyachae, a son of Musa

The giant school in Gusii land had a total of 445 candidates who sat KCSE 2019 exams. Despite the high candidature, the school had a mean score of 8.381. This is a great improvement from last year’s KCSE exam. In 2018, the school posted a mean of 7.652.

Top grades were well represented. Of the 445 candidates, two scored A plains whereas 63 scored A minus (A-). 345 students will join university directly under Kenya university and colleges central placement (KUCCPS) after attaining minimum university entry grade of C plus.
