Kisii high School is a public National boys’ school in Kisii, Kenya. It is a non-profit public institution established in 1934 (by the Young Kavirondo Association) to provide secondary education to young pupils.
The school has had a strong connection to the Musa Nyandusi family, a Senior Chief during the colonial era. This was the most powerful position akin to a king answerable only to the colonial authority with minimal supervision. The giant school in Gusii land had a total of 445 candidates who sat KCSE 2019 exams. Despite the high candidature, the school had a mean score of 8.381. This is a great improvement from last year’s KCSE exam. In 2018, the school posted a mean of 7.652.
Top grades were well represented. Of the 445 candidates, two scored A plains whereas 63 scored A minus (A-). 345 students will join university directly under Kenya university and colleges central placement (KUCCPS) after attaining minimum university entry grade of C plus.
