UNIVERSITY OF NAIROBI ANNOUNCES REPORTING DATES FOR REST OF THE STUDENTS

The University of Nairobi has started the phased reopening of on-site learning for the rest of the school.

UoN Final year’s students resumed on October 5.

The Vice Chancellor Stephen Kiama, on Friday, October 23,   announced that a section of the students would report on November 9.

“The Senate recently approved the resumption of phased on-campus learning starting from November 9, 2020. The Senate decision is meant to help the students whose programs require practical learning in the laboratory to report back to campus.

“First year students in the Colleges of Agriculture and Veterinary Sciences, Architecture and Engineering, Biological and Physical Sciences, Health Sciences and all students pursuing sciences in the College of Education and External Studies to report to their respective colleges,” Kiama stated.

Kiama further added that the rest of the students would continue online learning until further notice to allow those whose studies require physical classes of practicals to resume.

The VC stated that the Pardon Advisory Committee had reviewed and recommended several students to be readmitted to the university.

The Ministry of Education suspended mass reopening of primary and secondary schools.

However Tertiary institutions have continued with the resumption of studies for non-final year students.

On the other hand, the university has launched a policy for the detection and prevention of corruption and exam malpractice within the university.

The policy provides a procedure for the making of good faith disclosures; protection of those who make such disclosures from reprisals and a mechanism for an appropriate investigation of and response to such disclosures
