KNEC CHANGES ASSESSMENT DATES FOR CLASS 8 AND GRADE FOUR

Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) has changed the planned assessment dates for Learning Continuity in Basic Education (LCBE).

The assessment was planned to be begin on Monday, October 19.

The dates have now been changed due to Mashujaa Day Celebration.

Through a circular sent to all headteachers, KNEC CEO Mary Karogo directed for immediate change and adjustment of the new dates.

The purpose of this letter therefore is to inform due to the celebration of Mashujaa Day on 2oth October 2020, the date for administration of the learning assessment tools have changed

The Class 8 and Grade 4 assessment will now be administered from Wednesday; 21 October 2020 to Monday 26th October 2020” read part of the letter

KNEC has schedule that on the first day candidates will tackle Mathematics, English, and Composition. 

On the second day, the students will be tested on Science, Kiswahili and Insha on which will be followed by Social Studies and Religious Education on the third

For Grade 4 pupils, they will be examined on English learning, speaking and reading out loud for 10 minutes per learner. 

The special needs learners will be tested for 15 minutes each in the Braille. 

Those with hearing impairment will be examined on English observation and signing, and English reading and signing for 10 minutes per learner

The second day the students will be tested on English reading comprehension, Grammar and writing for 1 hour 20 minutes while those with special needs will be examined for 1 hour and 50 minutes. 

They will also be tested on Mathematics, environmental activities science and technology. 

Day three will feature Kiswahili listening and speaking and sign language for children with special needs. 

On the last day, their Kiswahili grammar skills will be put to the test.
