Centre for Mathematics, Science and Technology education in Africa (CEMASTEA) has launched an online teacher training course in order to equip teachers with the necessary content to teach during the CORONA Virus pandemic.
The Director of CEMASTEA Jacinta Akatsa in her statement stated, `12 online classrooms have been created to build teachers’ capacities on how to use google classrooms, competency based curriculum, specific subject topics, sensitization of online safety for teachers and students’
CEMASTEA is set to train 1,100 teachers in the second phase. Earlier it had trained the pioneers 1,063 teachers under phase one. The pioneers will play an important role of online tutoring of the new teachers.
Once the second phase of the trained teachers are through with the training. They are expected to open Google classrooms and teach the learners in the subjects they have trained.
